The inevitable was finally confirmed tonight as Spurs officially parted company with Franco Baldini.
Baldini presided over the spending of the Gareth Bale money, with a number of the so-called ‘magnificent seven’ struggling to adapt to the Premier League. Here’s how Twitter reacted to the news.

As expected, Franco Baldini has left #Tottenham. Wasn't involved in incomings in the summer, only outgoings #THFC https://t.co/3oJ885TnQ7

So. Farewell then, Baldini. How can a man that gave us Christian Eriksen also have had faith in Vlad Chiriches? I suppose we'll never know.

Fingers crossed Franco Baldini leaving signifies that Pochettino has final say on transfers with Mitchell finding gems for him #COYS

Baldini, by the way, wasn't a complete failure. Lamela is turning out to be a fine footballer and Eriksen/Chadli have been a success.

Yet another reason to love our former striker @r9soldado. He's favourited the official tweet about Baldini leaving. Top work Bobby.

Franco Baldini leaves #Tottenham – I hope he doesn't waste his payoff like he did all that Gareth Bale Money…

My favourite part of the Franco Baldini era was his downtrodden-housewife-in-a-1980s-soap-opera hair. #ThanksFranco pic.twitter.com/D7IuonCQWT

success Lamela, Eriksen, Chadli, Lloris – £60m
failures soldado, paulinho Capoue, chiriches – £56m
Overall success – but this lamella, eriksen, chadli nexus is looking very interesting.
