DeAndre Yedlin started his first game for Sunderland before the international break and Spurs fans will hope that the on-loan youngster will impress the new Black Cats’ manager Sam Allardyce sufficiently to see more action.

Yedlin is at least continuing to see regular football at international level. He won his 25th cap for his country in the USA’s 3-2 defeat to Mexico last night and marked the occasion with an assist.

The 22-year old came off the bench to make an impact on the right wing and did just that as he played a smart ball for Bobby Wood to make it 2-2. It’s good to see the American showing some variety to his game, rather than simply relying upon his scintillating pace.
