A cup tie of a twists and turns resulted in a 2-2 draw between Tottenham and Leicester at White Hart Lane.
Christian Eriksen’s early strike was cancelled out by Leicester goals either side of half time, and it looked as if Spurs were about to crash out to the Foxes for the second season in succession.
But a late Harry Kane penalty salvaged the tie for Tottenham, earning a replay at Leicester to be played later this month.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to the controversial penalty decision, Kane’s spot-kick and the result.
Karmic justice for the Leicester fans' overuse of the sarcastic handball chant.
Handball!
2-2.

That's a very good spot by the referee. Not sure how he's seen it to be honest. Credit where it's due.

Pick that out. I think Our Harry meant that! #TotLei

Great shout from the ref, there – not an easy one to spot but the right decision.

Credit to Rose though who consistently influences games from an LB position

In celebrating the goal I accidentally punched myself in the face and cut my lip. Don't ask. #COYS!

I had all my "concentrate on the League" tweets written and saved to Drafts.

Not ideal result but good that we've not lost. Still only 4 defeats in all comps all season. Thrilled for @HKane – 50 goals for #THFC!

I'll take that result after a poor display at the back. Harsh decision to give the penalty, but sometimes you need that stroke of luck.

Not losing after being as thoroughly appalling as they were is an achievement in itself, I suppose. Could do without the extra game, though.

50 up for Harry Kane. Fantastic achievement and a strike rate of virtually 1 in 2 for Spurs.
— Paul O Keefe (@pokeefe1) January 10, 2016
Kane has now scored more goals than any other player in the history of football

Don't buy the "Wednesday's more important" stuff. Going out in the 3rd round of the Cup at home would have been really rubbish.
— Charlie Parrish (@charlieparrish) January 10, 2016
It does my head in when people complain about playing an extra game. Surely it's better to still be in the competition than be out, right?
— Andrew Gaffney (@GaffneyVLC) January 10, 2016
Definitely was not a penalty but will take that. Just rather annoying we now have another game we could really do without. #COYS
