Unexpectedly, Harry Kane starts for Spurs at Colchester, captaining a much-changed side.
Christian Eriksen also surprisingly starts, as does Eric Dier, who partners Kevin Wimmer at centre back.
Nabil Bentaleb gets a rare start, coupled with Tom Carroll in central midfield. Nacer Chadli also starts after scoring twice in two games.
Prior to the game, news circulated that Fulham’s Moussa Dembele is set to sign for Tottenham, rejoining his current club on loan until the summer. Spurs could certainly do with him now so that Kane could be rested.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to all the team news.
Spurs are gonna blow Colchester United out the water with that eleven. #COYS https://t.co/Jy6J3HxYzb

Expected most of that XI but didn't see Eriksen or Kane starting + surprised to see Onomah on the bench. He's taking this seriously!

The XI a little stronger than what I would have imagined. Surprised to see the likes of Lamela, Eriksen and Kane start.

#thfc Surprised Kane's starting and I thought Poch might play Alderweireld & Wimmer together to build the partnership, but strong side.

Poch wants Spurs to win the FA Cup. So do I. #COYS

#thfc Important for Bentaleb to continue his comeback. We may be seeing more of Dier at CB while Vertonghen is out.

Scenes when Kane gets injured & then we sign Dembele & loan him back to Fulham

Agree with @1MickyHazard that games don't fatigue players if they're managed properly in training

Strong line up today & people who criticised Poch for not playing a strong team in the cups complaining we are playing strong team ?? #Coys
