We were in favour of fielding a strong side in the first-leg against Borussia Dortmund, but considering that Mauricio Pochettino decided otherwise and the tie is now effectively lost, damage limitation should be the order of the day.

That means resting the majority of the team that will play against Bournemouth, while only fielding those who have no obvious replacements. We’d start Hugo Lloris, Toby Alderweireld and Kevin Wimmer in an effort to keep the score down, with Kevin Trippier and Ben Davies coming in at full-back.

In midfield we’d add Nabil Bentaleb to the first-leg pairing of Tom Carroll and Ryan Mason, with Josh Onomah and Heung-Min Son out wide. In front of them, Nacer Chadli leads the line.

Here’s our team to face Borussia Dortmund, what’s yours?

  1. I reckon you could be right. Personally I’d like to see Capt Pugwash and his crew, Master Bates, Seaman Stains and Roger the Cabin Boy take up the forward positions (or up the rear positions for Roger).

  2. Thank you for all the dss benefits you give me and my family for free. England is a great country for this. We enjoy very much spending your money. Thank you my friends.
