Spurs look to have heavyweight competition in the race to sign the AZ Alkmaar striker Vincent Janssen.

French paper L’Equipe have reported that Paris St Germain have made an offer of £12m for Janssen.

Tottenham have already had an £11.31m bid turned down for Janssen, with his Dutch club holding out for £16.15m.

PSG are now said to be in negotiations with AZ, as the French champions look to rebuild their strike-force. They have already lost Zlatan Ibrahimovic this summer and Edison Cavani could also leave Paris before the season starts.

While the Premier League is more prestigious than Ligue 1, PSG can offer higher wages than Spurs and quite possibly more playing minutes, considering that Harry Kane will start the season as first-choice.

Tottenham may have been the first club to have made an official bid for Janssen this summer, but unless they act fast to give AZ what they want, they run the risk of letting a target slip away.
