Marseille winger Georges-Kevin N’Koudou has been training with Tottenham since last week, so why haven’t the club officially confirmed the transfer?

According to Sky Sports, Spurs will announce the signature of N’Koudou once Clinton N’Jie’s loan deal is finalised.

N’Jie, who arrived from Lyon last summer, is set to join Marseille on a season-long loan as part of the N’Koudou deal. Once that happens, Tottenham will pay Marseille £11 million to secure K’Koudou on a permanent basis.

Sky claim the deal has been “in the works for months,” but complications arose when it was announced Marseille were to be taken over by new owners. The transfer was put on hold temporarily, but it appears both clubs have come to an arrangement not dissimilar to the originally agreed fee.

Spurs could have done with signing N’Koudou much earlier in order to integrate him into Mauricio Pochettino’s philosophy for the new season. Hopefully N’Koudou doesn’t suffer the same fate as N’Jie, who struggled to adapt to the Premier League, unaided by a series of injuries, and is now set to return to France.

Do you think Spurs are right to let N’Jie leave after just one season? Or does the former Lyon striker deserve another chance?

  1. And you could tell that from his 5 appearances not even adding up to 180 mins could you? Lamella looked worse for much longer and how did that turn out?

  2. Give him another chance he has so much potential in the BPL Ann’s he is very good for the money w essential on him we should loan him out and see how nkoudu plays out but the way I see it it would be very unprofessional to let him leave after 1 season with us and id hate to see him go
