The game saw Hugo Lloris and the back four claim another clean sheet, as Eric Dier moved back into defence to partner Toby Alderweireld.
Further forward, Mousa Dembele made his long-awaited return to the starting lineup and Moussa Sissoko was given his home debut. There was also another start for Heung-Min Son, with the South Korean having one of his best games for the club.
Harry Kane scored the vital winning goal, before being forced off with injury later in the match. It was the second Premier League match in a row that the England striker found the net.
