At the beginning of the season thee rumour mill indicated Tottenham wanted to bring in Real Madrid playmaker Isco on loan. Sadly, it didn’t happen.

At the time it was suggested Isco would only leave Madrid to rejoin his former club Malaga in Spain. But now it seems Spurs may be keen to reignite their interest in the player.

The Mirror reports Isco is ready to leave the Santiago Bernabeu due to a lack of playing time, and that Tottenham are set to move for the 24-year-old this summer.

The attacking midfielder made both Real Madrid goals in their 2-0 win against Espanyol last weekend, so he certainly hasn’t lost his touch despite a lack of minutes.

If he did join, Isco would finally provide Christian Eriksen with some world-class competition, which would hopefully get the best out of both players.

Of course, this is very likely to only be a rumour for now. Isco is probably unhappy, but the press will predictably link him with Spurs simply because there was interest last summer.
