It was a frustrating opening 30 minutes for Tottenham in their Premier League clash with Watford at White Hart Lane.
Vincent Janssen came close twice and really should have opened the scoring for the hosts, only to see the ball ricochet off his thigh and hit the crossbar.
Watford looked much more dangerous than many Spurs fans anticipated and created a couple of chances of their own. But it was Mauricio Pochettino’s side who made the breakthrough.
Mousa Dembele powered forward and found Dele Alli, who cut inside and sent a wonderful curling shot past former Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes in the Watford goal.
