Reports in France claim Moussa Sissoko could be on his way out of Tottenham this summer, with French club Marseille waiting in the wings to sign him.

Sissoko joined Spurs from Newcastle United for £30 million last summer, but has struggled to break into the first team. The Frenchman has made 30 appearances for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, but most of them have been from the bench.

Marseille club ambassador Basile Boli, who scored the winning goal for the French club against AC Milan in the 1993 Champions League final, was said to be in deep conversation with Sissoko when the two met during Marseille’s 0-0 draw at Toulouse earlier this month, according to LeSport 10.

The game fell on Toulouse’s 80-year anniversary — it’s likely Sissoko was invited because he is a former Toulouse player. It could simply be coincidence that Boli and Sissoko were seated near each other, but most Tottenham fans will hope a transfer is on the cards.

The report claims Moussa Sissoko has already been transfer-listed by his current employers. Spurs are unlikely to make their money back, but Daniel Levy will be keen to get a decent return.
