Inter Milan are interested in signing Erik Lamela this summer, according to Sky Sports.

If that deal happens, Sky speculate that Tottenham could move for AC Milan playmaker Suso as a replacement.

Lamela has been out of action with a hip injury since last October and is expected to be sidelined until this October, at which point he will have been out for an entire year.

The Argentine has joined his teammates for pre-season training but will mainly be doing rehabilitation work in a bid to keep his return on schedule.

Inter Milan could swoop for Lamela before the transfer deadline regardless of his injury problems.

Spurs could look at former Liverpool midfielder Suso to fill the gap that will potentially be left by Lamela. The Spaniard has been repeatedly linked with a move back to England.

Suso has just two years left on his contract with Milan, so Tottenham might be able to sign him for a relatively small fee.

  1. Funny how Lamela doesn’t seem too injured now he has a chance of going back to Italy, hip problem my arse, It was probably a mental problem like was said in the rumours.

    • Erik Lamela hasn’t said anything about this, has he? Having recovered from his hip operations, he’s training at Spurs to get fit enough to play again, especially after the quality of season he had in 2015-16 and the good start he made to 2016-17. On the other hand perhaps Inter Milan could make a bid for him despite him not having played since October 2016, but I’ve not heard of that sort of thing before. On a separate note, maybe Spurs will sign Suso — who knows?
