Tottenham finished their excellent Champions League group stage with a routine victory over APOEL Nicosia at Wembley.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side had already sealed top spot in Group G, giving Spurs the chance to start a number of squad players while the likes of Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane were rested.

Fernando Llorente opened the scoring, controlling a Serge Aurier cross brilliantly before slotting home. It was his first Spurs goal and the relief was evident on his face.

The Spaniard set up the second, playing his part in a one-two with Son Heung-Min, who curled the ball into the far corner superbly.

Georges-Kevin Nkoudou, impressive on the night, finished APOEL off with Tottenham’s third and his first goal for the club.
