Dele Alli provided an assist for Danny Welbeck as England cruised to a 2-0 victory over Costa Rica in their final friendly before the World Cup.

Marcus Rashford opened the scoring with a stunning early strike to put the Three Lions ahead at Elland Road.

After a sharp start, England struggled to create openings until Dele Alli came off the bench.

The 22-year-old provided the assist for the second goal, crossing for Welbeck to head home from close range.

There was some debate around whether Alli was going for goal or aiming for the head of Welbeck – I’ll let you decide that one in the comments.

  1. I watched it in replay several times. It was a side footed pass that Welbeck just managed to get his his head on. It was never a shot by Dele.
