Harry Kane scored his 20th goal of the season with the winning strike against Chelsea in the EFL Cup semi-final first leg on Tuesday night.
Tottenham will now go into the second leg at Stamford Bridge with a 1-0 advantage thanks to Kane’s penalty kick, which was awarded after a VAR call.
After the goal, the @SkySportsStatto Twitter account posted an incredible statistic. Kane has now scored 20 goals in all competitions in five successive seasons, becoming the first player in Spurs’ history to do so.

Tottenham are incredibly fortunate to have a consistent goalscorer in their ranks, no less one who came through the academy and didn’t cost the club a penny.
It’s something Chelsea desperately lack. The Blues started without a recognised striker and, despite their dominance in possession, they lacked bite in the final third.
Olivier Giroud was introduced in the final stages but it was too late. Ultimately, Spurs’ top-class centre-forward was the decisive player at Wembley.
It will be interesting to see if Maurizio Sarri starts Giroud or Alvaro Morata in the second leg to give Chelsea more of a focal point.
