Inter Milan are interested in signing Tottenham midfielder Moussa Sissoko, according to reports in Italy.
Sissoko has been in excellent form for Spurs this season, transforming his reputation from flop to something of a fan favourite.
Mauricio Pochettino very rarely leaves the Frenchman out when fit, and he is likely to be in the starting line-up against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Wednesday night – check out our predicted Spurs XI here.
However, Italian outlet Calcio Mercato claims Tottenham are looking to sell Sissoko in the summer as they aim to bring in new midfielders.
Ajax’s Donny van de Beek, Paris Saint-Germain’s Adrien Rabiot and Valencia’s Carlos Soler are all cited as possible options.
The report goes on to suggest Inter would be keen to take Sissoko off Spurs’ hands if the Londoners are indeed willing to sell.
Frankly, the story makes little sense. There is no way Mauricio Pochettino is actively thinking of selling one of his favourite and most important players.
Sissoko is contracted until the summer of 2021, and it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see the 29-year-old extend that deal before he turns 30 in the summer.
