Tottenham Hotspur are leading Manchester United in the race to sign Fulham starlet Ryan Sessegnon, according to the Sun.

Sessegnon has been linked with Spurs a number of times since breaking into the Fulham first-team as a 16-year-old.

Now 19, the left-sided defender or midfielder is expected to leave Craven Cottage this summer following Fulham’s relegation to the Championship.

With just one year remaining on his current contract, there is a chance Sessegnon could run down his deal and leave for nothing at the end of next season.

But according to the Sun, Tottenham and Manchester United want to sign the teenager this summer.

The reports suggests Spurs are leading the race because of Mauricio Pochettino’s pulling power, a result of the faith the Argentinian has put in youth since arriving in England.

Sessegnon would be an ideal long-term replacement for Danny Rose while also providing Tottenham with another option in attack.

Manchester United will probably be able to offer the youngster a bigger salary, but Spurs will hope Pochettino’s pull is powerful enough to lure Sessegnon to north London.
