Mauricio Pochettino has selected Troy Parrott to start in Tottenham’s pre-season friendly against Juventus.

Spurs face Juventus in Singapore today, in the first of their ICC tournament games. Pochettino has picked a team that features a mix of experienced players with academy products, of which Parrott is the youngster that Tottenham fans will be most keen to see in action.

The 17-year old is expected to have a bright career for both Spurs and the Republic of Ireland. Parrott scored 19 goals last season in his appearances for Tottenham’s U18, U23 and UEFA Youth League teams. He was been fast-tracked into training with the first-team last season and travelled with the squad that visited Leicester in the Premier League last season.

Other young players selected to face Juventus include the central defender Japhet Tanganga, Anthony Georgiou at left-back and Oliver Skipp, who has been paired with Harry Winks in midfield. Here’s the full team that will start today in the 12:30 kick off: Gazzaniga, Walker-Peters, Alderweireld, Tanganga, Georgiou, Winks, Skipp, Lamela, Dele, Son, Parrott
