Tottenham are close to signing Fulham starlet Ryan Sessegnon, according to the Telegraph.

Sessegnon has been linked with a move to Spurs for some time since breaking into the Fulham team as a 16-year-old.

Now 19, the defender looks set to leave Fulham with just one year remaining on his contract, and it is believed Tottenham are the club who will sign him.

Despite a difficult debut season in the Premier League in which he suffered relegation with the Cottagers, Sessegnon remains highly rated and will be a useful addition to Mauricio Pochettino’s squad.

Danny Rose looks set to leave the club, so Tottenham are in need of a long-term replacement at left-back. Sessegnon can also play further forward.

The Telegraph claims Spurs will pay £20 million plus add-ons for the England Under-21 international.

That might seem like a lot given his contract situation, but Fulham were apparently asking for £50 million last summer so it looks like Tottenham have talked them down considerably.

Ben Davies has signed a new contract, meaning the Welshman and Sessegnon are likely to be Spurs’ primary options on the left this season.

  1. I doubt it. Rose will stay and fight Levy over the years being sold and Sessegnon IF he comes will be played primarily as a winger. Rose is a club legend and 12 years of service to than being shipped out unceremoniously through the back door seems disgraceful to me from Tottenham

  2. I beg Danny Rose to stay at Spurs and fight for his place , he is the only good Left Back who can attack and defend he has still got 3 /4 years left in him stay Danny , the only thing I have against him is the rebel in him he can defy the management stay Danny .
