Tottenham are set to offer midfielder Christian Eriksen a new £200,000 per-week deal in a desperate attempt to convince the Danish international to remain in North London, according to the Daily Mail.

The 27-year-old, who has entered the final year of his contract, could still leave Spurs this summer, with still more than three weeks remaining until the European transfer window closes on Monday 2nd September.

Eriksen was left out of Mauricio Pochettino’s starting line-up for their opener against Aston Villa on Saturday, but the former Ajax man showed his importance by stepping off the bench to produce a wonderful 26-minute cameo to help swing the game Spurs’ way.

And now Eriksen is set to be offered two-and-a-half times the £80,000 per-week he is currently paid by the club, as Tottenham look to prevent their star man from leaving on a free transfer next summer when his four-year deal expires at the end of the season.

  1. Look I’m a spurs fan 37years there is no chance of Eriksen signing contract he wuda sign it alrdy he wants out an I personally wud keep him let him leave on a free he only cost 11mill take a chance we win something this year with him I don’t thank real Madrid want him an ath Madrid r not a step up so he shd know by now tat the big clubs don’t rate him or they wuda been in for him by now simple

  2. Eriksen is a player in demand. He has received bad advice from his friends and false promises from Woodward & RM. Before month end expect him to ask Poch and Levy for what he wants and to negotiate va satisfactory long term deal.

  3. IF HE WAS WANTED BY ANY CLUB THEY WOULD HAVE MADE AN OFFER & BOUGHT HIM BY NOW, PUT HIM TO BED GET RID, HIS HEART HAS NOT BEEN WITH SPURS FOR AT LEASE 8 MONTHS, COST US MORE GAMES THAN WON FOR US, MISSING PENALTIES, NOT EVEN TRYING IN THE CL FINAL. IF HE HAD BEEN TRYING HE WOULD HAVE BEEN IN SPAIN BY NOW , NOT WORTH £100,000 !! PW TO SPURS , GET RID , USE £50M ON A YOUNGER PLAYER WITH POTENTIAL , IF LEVY WANTS TO PAY HIM £200,000 PW HA HA TELL HIM TO GET HIS FINGER OUT AND PLAY LIKE HE’S WORTH IT, IF HE’S STILL HIT & MISS WHAT THEN ! PAY SON MOURA WINKS SISSOKO FOYTH LAMELA DAVIES DELE WHAT THEIR WORTH TO US ALL NON STOP TRYERS . NOW WE HAVE A GOOD TEAM WITH THE NEW SIGNINGS.. SO NOW WE DON’T NEED A LAZY MIDFIELDER . GET RID DON’T PAY HIM TO SIT ON HIS ARSE ON THE BENCH. HE’S HAVING A LAUGH AT US, NO HEART NO PLAY, NO PAY IF HE THINKS HE’S GOOD ENOUGH & WORTH PLAYING FOR A GREAT EUROPEAN CLUB THEN HE HAS TO PLAY BETTER FOR SPURS AND NOT TAKE THE PISS , HE’S FINISHED AT SPURS HE’S MADE THAT CLEAR , IF THE TOP CLUBS OF EUROPE DON’T WANT HIM BECAUSE HE’S NOT THAT GOOD. SERVES HIM RIGHT.

  4. I agree that he hasn’t given his all consistently over the past year, his mind is clearly focused on feathering his financial nest to secure a comfortable future for him and his family…..can’t blame him for that, its business guys….however, if Levy steps up and offers him a lucrative 4yr deal I believe it would give him a boost and he would step his game up…he’s a decent person amd he loves the club, there’s no doubt about that.

  5. I have been a Spurs fan for over 50 years and have always liked Eriksen as a player. I have to agree though it appears that his head has been elsewhere for at least half of last season. My opinion regarding Spurs players has not changed in all the time I have supported the club. If it is going to take a huge pay packet to make him play then it is better to let him go. I love the club and the shirt and if players don’t have the love or pride in the shirt then they don’t belong here. COYS
