Dele Alli is expected to play a part for Tottenham in this weekend’s north London derby against Arsenal, according to the Telegraph.

The midfielder has missed the opening three games of the season with a hamstring injury, an occurrence that is becoming all too familiar for Spurs fans. Alli suffered multiple muscle problems last season, resulting in a fractured campaign to say the least.

But the Telegraph claims the 23-year-old is nearing a return and Tottenham expect him to be fit for Sunday’s trip to the Emirates. It’s a huge boost for Spurs given that Alli scored on the team’s last visit to Arsenal, a 2-0 win in the EFL cup last term.

What’s more, Mauricio Pochettino is becoming desperate for Alli’s dynamism in the final third. Tottenham offered very little threat going forward against Manchester City and Newcastle.

Alli is the perfect addition to make penetrating runs into Arsenal’s penalty area, working off Harry Kane if the required gaps appear. It will be interesting to see whether he starts on the bench or goes straight into the line-up in place of Lucas Moura or Son Heung-min.
