On loan Tottenham midfielder Jack Roles bagged his first professional goal for Cambridge United on Tuesday evening.
The 20-year-old midfielder signed a new contract at Spurs earlier this summer before joining the League Two outfit, who are managed by former Tottenham defender Colin Calderwood, on loan until January.
Roles was handed his debut the same day he joined the U’s and impressed in their victory against Scunthorpe United, but has struggled for game time since then.
The midfielder was once again on the bench against Mansfield Town this evening, but needed just three minutes after coming on to score his first goal in senior football.
You can see Roles’ classy finish in the video below.

After a shot was saved in a crowded penalty area, Roles produced some neat control before wonderfully volleying home into the corner to put Cambridge 1-0 ahead, in a game they ended up winning 4-0 to move up to 8th in the table, just a single point outside the play-off places.
