Celtic have registered their interest in re-signing Tottenham midfielder Victory Wanyama in January according to Glasgow Evening Times.

The Kenyan captain, who scored 13 goals in 91 appearances for the Hoops between 2011 and 2013, is one of a host of Spurs players that are set to be allowed to leave in the winter transfer window as Mauricio Pochettino looks to freshen up his currently depleted squad.

Wanyama was on the verge of signing for Belgian side Club Brugge in a £13million deal earlier this summer, but a move collapsed and he remained at Tottenham.

The 28-year-old has since made two substitute appearances in the Premier League against Leicester City and Southampton – with his only start for the club coming in their disasterous Carabao Cup 3rd Round exit at the hands of League Two Colchester United last month.

And now the Glasgow Evening Times are reporting that Wanyama, who was left out the Spurs squad for their 3-0 defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend, is a target for the Scottish champions.
