Tottenham want to replace Juan Foyth with Freiburg defender Robin Koch, according to reports in Germany.
Koch, whose contract expires at the end of next season, has made 31 Bundesliga appearances this term. The 23-year-old has also been capped twice by Germany.
German outlet Bild claims Koch has told Freiburg he will not be extending his contract, and Spurs are said to be monitoring the centre-back’s situation as they attempt to identify a replacement for Foyth.
The report suggests Foyth could be on his way to Inter Milan this summer. The Argentine has struggled to make an impact since Jose Mourinho replaced Mauricio Pochettino as Tottenham boss last November.
Regardless of Foyth’s future, Spurs should be prioritising the acquisition of a new centre-back.
Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez have impressed since the Premier League’s return, but neither are of the quality Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld showed at their respective peaks.
Alderweireld was left out of the team against Manchester United and West Ham United, suggesting he has fallen behind Dier and Sanchez in the pecking order, while Vertonghen’s contract expires this summer.
Ohhh! Thanks for this report. Keep it up
