Newcastle United are the latest Premier League side to register their interest in signing Tottenham’s Ryan Sessegnon, according to The Sun.

We relayed stories from both the Telegraph and Guardian in the previous week, linking the teenager with moves to former club Fulham and European giants Ajax respectively, as the 19-year-old seeks for more regular football next season after a difficult first campaign in north London.

Sessegnon featured just 12 times in all competitions for Spurs in 2019-2020, and didn’t play a single minute once the season restarted after the Coronavirus pandemic eased off.

And The Sun believe that Sessegnon, who made just six Premier League appearances for Tottenham last term, is top of Steve Bruce’s summer wish list – with the Magpies now on a restricted budget after their well-documented £300m takeover collapsed in July.

Newcastle took Danny Rose on loan for the second half of last season, but the 30-year-old could return to Spurs, which would leave Bruce with no recognised left-back – with Jetro Willems still facing a number of months out injured.
