Tottenham are keeping tabs on Almeria striker Umar Sadiq, according to reports in Spain.

Sadiq scored 20 goals in the Spanish second division last season but failed to secure a move to a bigger club in the summer.

However, Spanish outlet Fichajes is now reporting that the 24-year-old, who has scored six league goals so far this season, could be on the move in January.

Sadiq is said to be of interest to Spurs and Sevilla – the latter were keen in the summer but only offered €10 million for the Nigeria international.

Almeria are thought to value Sadiq at closer to €25 million, and Tottenham have apparently been receiving performance reports on the striker.

The report says Spurs see Sadiq as a possible replacement for Harry Kane, who wanted to leave in the summer and could yet depart in the future.

It’s difficult to see the Londoners departing with Kane in January, however, so perhaps Tottenham will wait until next summer.

That said, Spurs could do with bedding in Kane’s replacement while the England captain is still at the club, so maybe they should make a January move for Sadiq.
