Tottenham are working on deals to bring Christian Eriksen and Gareth Bale back to the club, according to reports in Spain.

Eriksen is currently without a club having left Inter Milan following the mutual termination of his contract, a decision that was made after it became clear the Dane would be unable to play in Serie A with his fitted defibrillator.

And Spanish outlet Todo Fichajes claims Antonio Conte, who coached Eriksen at Inter, now wants to sign the Dane for Spurs. Negotiations have apparently already begun.

Meanwhile, another Spanish publication, El Nacional, suggests Tottenham have gone back in for Bale, who spent last season on loan at Spurs from Real Madrid.

The Welshman is out of contract at the end of the season and looks bound to leave either this month or in the summer. El Nacional believes Spurs are in talks to buy Bale now.

Our take? It’s unclear how reliable these reports are as they are not from the major Spanish newspapers, nor have they been picked up by any trustworthy outlets here in the UK.

Re-signing Eriksen and Bale would certainly improve the quality of Tottenham’s squad, but it’s far too early to say whether either deal is realistic.
