Tottenham have contacted Jesse Lingard’s representatives over a summer move from Manchester United, according to Football.London.
Lingard is out of contract next summer and is searching for regular first-team football after failing to start a Premier League game for the Red Devils this term and has started only two across all competitions.
The 29-year-old was linked to Tottenham ahead of Jose Mourinho’s first full season back in 2020, whilst the England international has been strongly linked with a return to West Ham following his outstanding loan spell at the London Stadium last campaign.
But Football.London believe that Spurs have contacted Lingard’s camp over the possibility of the attacker moving to North London at the end of the season, while a January move is not completely off the table.
Antonio Conte will be eyeing up some huge summer transfers, but Tottenham could do far worse then signing Lingard on a free transfer. The England international showed his class by scoring nine goals and laying on five assists for the Hammers from January.

Personally I think lingard is a small team superstar like Sigurdsson, Shaun Wright Philips etc who in a small team where they have all the freedom to do what they want, they shine and get fairly good numbers. In a bigger team with a more rigid formation with better players they tend to wither away quite a bit.
Luis diaz, although more expensive has many more years in the tank and would be a frightening prospect of son kane and diaz around the box with traore and reggy/sess piling in from out wide. Sessegnon and traore are also very hard to contain.

I still havent forgotten julian alvarez and with man u unable to get a deal due to needing to sell to buy, paratici should be stealing a march to get that deal done. That kid looks a mega star in the making, hes got the eye for goal but theres real intelligence there at a young age and he could be a suarez when that intelligence develops.
Another player we need is left centreback and have found Nico Schlotterbeck to be very impressive this year. Freiburg are 4th in the bundesliga with the joint best defence in the league (joint with bayern). Schlotterbeck is a left footed, left sided young centreback who is the clear star of their backline. Its hard to watch him and not think you are watching vertonghen in a different kit. Moves and plays almost identical to super jan.
