Paris Saint-Germain are interested in stealing Tottenham’s director of football Fabio Paratici, but the Italian is expected to stay in north London, according to The Athletic.

Paratici joined Spurs last summer and oversaw the hiring of Nuno Espirito Santo and the arrival of a mixed bunch of initial signings.

Cristian Romero has been the most successful of those recruits, with the performances of Emerson Royal and Pierluigi Gollini raising questions and Bryan Gil since heading back to Spain on loan.

January was better; Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski have both proven to be solid acquisitions already, and of course Paratici has been credited with bringing in Antonio Conte as head coach.

But could the director of football already be on his way out? It seems not.

The Athletic clams PSG are keen on Paratici but the 49-year-old is apparently eager to stay at Tottenham and finish what he started – he is said to have a good relationship with Conte and chairman Daniel Levy.

Turning down PSG would be a big call but it seems Paratici is committed to Spurs. Whether there will be contact from the French giants eventually is unknown – it will be interesting to see if he is tempted if and when that happens.
