Harry Kane gave Spurs fans an early Christmas present today when he signed a new contract at the club.
The England striker put pen to paper on a five and a half year deal which will see him paid a weekly wage in excess of £100,000.
It’s a significant development for the club, not just in terms of keeping Kane at Tottenham, but also in terms of our aspirations of committing Hugo Lloris to a new deal.
Here’s how Spurs Twitter reacted to the news.
Really happy to have signed a new deal. Big years ahead and signing a new contract is just the start. #COYS pic.twitter.com/K0LSfdmutc

Kane is someone you can build a team around, a bonus he's a local lad too, and is essentially irreplaceable for a side like Spurs. #COYS

Think I've been guilty of taking Harry Kane for granted a bit. No more, @HKane.
Loves the club, just turned 23, 65 in 112 last 3 seasons.— Charlie Parrish (@charlieparrish) December 1, 2016

Kane has scored 6 goals in 9 games this season, after the same amount of games last season he scored 1.
He went on to win the golden boot.
