Gareth Southgate has confirmed Harry Kane will captain England against Slovenia at Wembley on Thursday.
The Three Lions manager revealed Kane has known he will lead the team the out for a month.
It is still unclear whether the Tottenham striker will be handed the captaincy on a permanent basis.
Gary Cahill and Jordan Henderson have also worn the armband during Southgate’s reign as England boss.
Following a goalless August, Kane scored 13 goals in all competitions for club and country in September.
