Tottenham have been tracking Napoli midfielder Jorginho ahead of a potential summer move, according to the Mail.

Napoli have had an excellent season in Serie A, running champions Juventus close in the title race but coming up short in the end.

Jorginho has been one of the team’s standout players this term, and a number clubs from across Europe are thought to be keen on the Brazil-born Italy international.

The Mail claims Manchester City are the frontrunners to sign the 26-year-old, but Tottenham, Manchester United and Arsenal have all watched him “extensively” in recent months.

Napoli are believed to value Jorginho at £53 million, meaning Spurs would have to smash their transfer record to sign him.

Davinson Sanchez is currently Tottenham’s record transfer – the Dutchman arrived from Ajax for a fee in the region of £38 million last summer.

Spurs are apparently on the lookout for a long-term Mousa Dembele replacement, and that search will intensify if Dembele leaves this summer.

Jorginho would be an ideal replacement, but Tottenham may find it hard to match the financial power of the Manchester clubs.
