Tottenham Hotspur have expressed an interest in signing Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Julian Draxler this summer, according to reports in France.

Draxler scored five goals and provided 12 assists in 46 appearances across all competitions this season.

Spurs might be in need of a new central midfielder after Christian Eriksen admitted he may seek a new challenge this summer.

The Londoners have been linked with Real Betis’ Giovani Lo Celso and Sporting Lisbon’s Bruno Fernandes in recent days.

And now, French outlet L’Equipe (via Sport Witness) claims Tottenham have made an enquiry about Draxler.

It’s unclear whether Spurs have approached PSG or the player’s representatives, but they are said to have ‘taken the temperature’ of a possible deal.

Tottenham could face competition from Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen – PSG signed Draxler from German club Wolfsburg – and PSG apparently value the 25-year-old at around £35.5 million.

Once considered a huge talent, Draxler’s reputation has dropped slightly since he joined PSG having failed to really make his mark in the French capital.

A fresh start could be just what is needed, and it looks like Spurs may be on hand to offer him one.
