Tottenham have been linked with Napoli’s Elseid Hysaj and Roma’s Allesandro Florenzi as possible replacements for Kieran Trippier.

The news comes from Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, who claims Spurs are now on the lookout for a new right-back following Trippier’s departure.

Trippier sealed a surprise move to Atletico Madrid on Wednesday, meaning Tottenham are now left with Serge Aurier and Kyle Walker-Peters as their senior right-backs.

Young centre-back Juan Foyth may also be used on the right this season, but Mauricio Pochettino might want to bring in a direct replacement for Trippier.

Hysaj, 25, has two years remaining on his Napoli contract while Florenzi, 28, has four years remaining on his current deal with Roma.

With that in mind, Hysaj is perhaps a more realistic option given his age and the fact he would probably be cheaper.

That said, Spurs have reportedly been in talks with Roma over a deal for Toby Alderweireld, so maybe the idea of Florenzi moving in the other direction was raised during those discussions.

Meanwhile, Norwich starlet Max Aarons – another right-back who has been linked with Tottenham – has signed a new five-year contract with the Canaries.
