Manchester United are preparing an offer for Christian Eriksen but the Tottenham star remains on Real Madrid’s list of targets, according to reports in Spain.

Eriksen has been linked with Real Madrid and Juventus, who apparently could try to lowball Spurs before the end of the month if the Londoners sign a replacement for the Dane by Thursday’s English transfer deadline – find out more about that potential scenario here.

However, Eriksen has been mooted as a target for United a number of times over the last couple of years, and Spanish outlet AS claims the Red Devils could finally make their move in the coming days.

Their report suggests United have already spoken to Eriksen about personal terms and are willing to offer the playmaker a five-year contract. He is said to be keen on the idea of moving to Old Trafford, and United are thought to be preparing their first bid.

What could end up putting Eriksen off, though, is United’s lack of Champions League football – something both Spurs and Real Madrid can offer. AS claims Madrid are still interested in Eriksen, who is their number one alternative to Paul Pogba.

It looks like it could be a nervy few days for Tottenham fans, but as long as the club brings in Giovani Lo Celso from Real Betis or Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon, the supporters should be content.
