Tottenham have been dealt a big blow after Antonio Conte confirmed that Ryan Sessegnon has been ruled out until after the international break.

The 21-year-old has started the last six games in all competitions having moved ahead of Sergio Reguilon in the left wing-back pecking order.

However, Sessegnon suffered a hamstring problem in the first half of Monday’s victory over Everton on Monday and will definitely miss the Premier League fixtures with Manchester United, Brighton and West Ham.

Conte couldn’t reveal exactly when the ex-Fulham man might return to action, but said that “maybe” he’ll be back following the conclusion of the international break later this month.

However, reliable journalist Alasdair Gold said that Tottenham are not expecting Sessegnon back for at least a month and potentially longer.

Should that end up being the case, Sessegnon, who’s had a host of injuries since he signed in 2019, could end up missing as many as five or six Premier League games in total.

  1. We bought him injured. He’s always injured, so we can hardly be surprised. THIS is exactly the reason we shouldn’t be buying Dybala. He is always injured now too!

  2. TBH Sessegnon is not the standard Spurs need Regulon showed immediately when he came on against Everton he has that extra bite, Quicker pace quicker thinker.

  3. Said in the past that it was important that he remained fit and not become Darren Sicknote Anderton Mark2.
Obvious that unfortunately he is well on the way to being so.
