On This Day In Spurs History: 19th April

1972 – Having taken a one goal lead in the first leg of the UEFA Cup semi-final at White Hart Lane, Spurs played AC Milan in the return match in Italy. We took an early lead through Alan Mullery, who just days earlier been recalled from his loan to Fulham. Milan equalised through a penalty, but Tottenham held on to reach the final against Wolves.

1975 – Another year, another win over Chelsea. Both teams were fighting relegation and Tottenham’s 2-0 win helped to ensure that we stayed up and that they would go down. Alfie Conn and Steve Perryman scored the goals.
