The first major departure from White Hart Lane this summer could be just around the corner with news that Napoli are in ‘advanced negotiations’ with Wilson Palacios as they try to tie up a deal for the Honduran midfielder.

Wilson has been linked with a move to Serie A for some time now and the player himself believes the transfer is very close.

“The coming days will be crucial for my future,” he told the press. “Negotiations are advanced, but I will wait for news from London.”

The fee for Palacios is thought to be in the region of £10m pounds and his departure will represent the first part of the ‘streamlining’ that Daniel Levy has promised.

  1. Whilst I understand Daniel Levy’s desire to get every last penny out of a deal, this transfer window is vital to us. We have to show Luka we’re serious about bringing in quality strikers, and not playing brinkmanship, waiting until August 31st. Part of this process is getting the likes of Palacios out the door quickly, so we have funds available. My advice, £10m for Palacios that will do nicely…then move on to the next

    • i agree 100%. we need to sell players quickly. i think 10million plus add-ons is a very fair deal. i hope some signings/departures are announced soon

  2. 10 million? Do it now! Palacios hasn’t consistently played for us recently and he won’t be playing for us anytime soon. Get the 10 million and move on.

In other news, it appears a bid of over 10 million for Demaio has been rejected by Internacional. Keep at it Harry and Daniel, I really like him and he would be a great buy for up to 15 million. Also, we have picked up Brad Friedel on a free transfer. It’s free and he is better than what we have now. We can add a young goalie on the cheap and let him develop behind Friedel and Carlo and focus our money on strikers and defenders. Good deal and welcome Brad!

  3. I’d say take the money and move on, Levy always tries to milk the transfers. Time to sell and allow ‘Arry the time to find the right striker.
