It’s been just two and a half weeks since Gareth Bale limped out of our away game with Fulham but breaking news this evening confirms that the Welshman is back in full training. Even better is the suggestion that Bale is in line to return to the starting line up for Saturday’s game against Stoke.

“It’s good news,” said Andre Villas-Boas. “First for the player because he wants to be back in the group and he’s made a tremendous recovery. He’s worked extremely hard.

AVB also took the opportunity to give updates on some of our other walking wounded.

“Michael was injured in the same game as Gareth and they’ve both returned to training. It’s great to have them back,” he added.

“Benoit Assou-Ekotto is also recovering his fitness, along with Scott Parker. Scott is a little ahead of Benoit, but he’s getting back into shape and back into contention.”

Of the players named, Gareth is the most likely to walk straight back into the first team and that will be welcome news as we prepare to face a Stoke team who have conceded just four goals in their last nine matches.

  1. We should of had at least 5 penalties against these dirty wanks last season but good old Chris Foy was on a promise of a good bumming sess if he robbed Spurs. Bale is going to rip these freaks apart.

  2. Definately one of the worst refereeing performances of last season. At least.
Apart from the penalties, we were robbed of a perfectly good goal by a wrong off side decision.
But the hand ball on the line, was the pick of the bunch.
    I WAS SO PISSED OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But we will hammer them on Saturday.
