Spurs’ head coach Andre Villas-Boas has promised to field a strong side when the team steps out to face Inter Milan at the San Siro tonight.

Gareth Bale is definitely out through suspension and he joins long term injury victims Sandro and Younes Kaboul on the sidelines but many potential absentees are likely to be available.

“We’ve brought Ade, who has been involved in training and we’re making good progress with Aaron,” AVB said.

“There are good signs there and Clint Dempsey is almost ready to return, so it’s good, positive news.”

There are few areas that are completely certain although it seems likely that Brad Friedel will return ahead of Hugo Lloris in goal. The back four is between Walker, Vertonghen, BAE, Gallas and Caulker, unless AVB considers Michael Dawson.

In midfield, the only real question is over Aaron Lennon – will he start and if not, who will come in to replace him?

Here’s how we think Spurs will line up but what’s your view?

  1. I’d pick that same team but possible with Siggy and Holtby swapped round. We could also see a team with Tom Carroll instead of Dembele and have Dembele on the right as Lennon shouldn’t start

  2. As its an away game I can see Ade playing up top. Sig on the left seems to his favoured position so keep him there. I’d play verthongen left back. Benny has not been himself since he’s come back. He has been average for him. We are more robust with a large back 4 plus the threat from corners is the best we’ve seen for years. Tonight’s game is not going to be tough watching I fear. I honestly feel that fatigue is already an issue.

  3. ———–Friedel————–
    Naughton–Gallas–Caulker–BAE
    ——-Carroll—-Parker—–
    Gylfi —————–Holtby
    ———-Defoe———–
    ———–Ade———–

This should be a team sufficient enough to get a draw and leaves some players to get ready for Sundays must win game

  4. Agree with James_THFC about swapping siggy and holtby.
At half time when we have the vital away goal I’d bring on a host of subs like Caulker, Kyle N and young Tom C.

  5. Ross I agree with us lookin tired, possibly why we made mistakes too. I wouldn’t risk the likes of dembele or Lennon plus I think holtby and Dempsey also is a goal threat if he is back. Not sure about verts left back tho bit to slow so maybe naughton left back.?

  6. Freidel

    Naughton Caulker Gallas Vertonghen

    Parker Carroll

    Holtby Dembele Sigurdsson

    Adebayor

Subs: Lloris, Walker, Dawson, Lennon, Huddlestone, Defoe, Coulthirst
