While Roberto Soldado continues to plough a lone furrow for Spurs up front, there will be little opportunity for some of our fringe strikers to get game time at the Lane so step forward former boss Harry Redknapp who could be set to solve the problem over at QPR (at least on a temporary basis).

Harry revealed that the West London club was interested in taking Harry Kane on a loan deal as Andrew Johnson was being lined up to head back to his former club Crystal Palace.

“It may still happen, I was going to take Harry on the deadline when AJ looked like he was going to Crystal Palace,” said Redknapp.

“Could it still happen? It depends, if Adebayor is not in their squad then they only have two strikers, Defoe and Soldado.

“Harry is third choice, but if they feel he needs games then they might do. It certainly didn’t do Andros any harm last year.”

Another option is for QPR to take Emmanuel Adebayor on loan and that might just lead to a permanent deal further down the line. Rangers are one of the few teams who would consider such a move and a Premiership return would also make the transfer more appealing to the Togolese.
