If you’re a fan of Kyle Walker and believe that issues on the right side of defence cannot be solved until he gets back in action then the news continues to improve with reports that the England International is on the verge of a comeback to the first team.

Walker played 67 minutes of Tottenham’s Under 21 game with Manchester City last night and afterwards took to Twitter to confirm there were no ill-effects.

“Felt good to back on the pitch tonight with the U21s, nice to cap it with a win too,” he said.

“Thanks to the medical team, the fans, my friends and most of all my family for standing by me whilst injured. Always light at the end of the tunnel.”

Kyle Naughton has continued to struggle with injury and suspension while Eric Dier looks promising but is clearly playing out of position. We’ve previously said on here that Kyle Walker needs tangible competition on the right side of defence and in many ways, his prolonged absence has backed up that assertion.
