Monaco have today confirmed the loan signing of AC Milan’s Stephan El Shaarawy, which will become a full transfer when the Italian international completes 15 games for the club.

The news could reignite Tottenham’s hope of signing the Monaco forward Anthony Martial, who like El Shaarawy is able to play as a central striker or on the wing.

Spurs were linked with an £18m deal for Martial earlier this summer, only for the 19-year old to sign a new contract with Monaco.

Yet with Monaco beefing up their attacking options, Spurs might well decide to make another move for Martial who is exactly to sort of young, pacy player who would make a great alternative to Harry Kane.
