Nabil Bentaleb went off injured in the U21 victory over Leicester last week and today it was revealed that he has undergone knee surgery.
The Algerian will be out for at least six weeks, effectively ruling him out for the season. The injury could have even bigger repercussions for Bentaleb, who has struggled to find regular playing time time season.
So does this spell curtains for Bentaleb’s career at White Hart Lane? Here’s the verdict from Spurs fans on Twitter.

Knee operation? Are we sure Bentaleb isn't having all the splinters removed from his arse due to sitting on the naughty step all season?

#thfc Bentaleb unlikely to play again this season after knee surgery. Struggled for game time and looked rusty when he did play. Tough cycle

Shame Nabil Bentaleb's career has ground to a halt. Season promised so much, but ultimately delivered little.

Poch isn't big on 2nd chances but Dembele came back from the dead so I hope Bentaleb's slate is wiped clean for preseason. Fantastic player.

Hopefully this knee injury explains Bentaleb's lack of form and availability this season. An in-form Nabil is a player. #thfc

Who else thought Noooo to the breaking news of Tottenham midfielder out for 6 wks. Then the huge sigh of relief it was Bentaleb.
