After a spell of irresistible football from Tottenham, West Brom were eventually undone by an own goal from a set piece in the first half at White Hart Lane.
Spurs had missed chances through Harry Kane and Jan Vertonghen earlier in the half. Vertonghen, though, was first to claim the goal when the hosts eventually broke through.
Christian Eriksen’s free-kick was bundled in by a mixture of Vertonghen and Albion defender Craig Dawson.
