Spurs have been linked with the Marseille midfielder Lassana Diarra earlier this season and the French international has given a huge hint that he will make a move this summer.

L’Equipe claim that Diarra has an agreement to leave Marseille for a free transfer in the summer, making the former Arsenal and Chelsea player a very cost effective option as cover for Eric Dier.

After Marseille’s 1-0 win against Reims at the weekend, Diarra admitted that it’s likely that he will leave the club.

“There is a great chance I leave Marseille. We will see. I’ve never spoken to other clubs. I hear a lot of things, I say nothing.”

With plenty of Champions League experience from his time at Real Madrid and a Premier League veteran, the 31-year old could be a smart acquisition after a brilliant season with Marseille. Watch Diarra in action below.

  2. He may be good cover for Dier but really how much longer can he play top flight, he is now 31 and do we want to have older players like him joining when our team has such great young talent.
