Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that Nabil Bentaleb, Federico Fazio and Alex Pritchard are leaving Spurs, but had some surprise news concerning Clinton Njie.

Speaking at a press conference before Tottenham’s friendly with Juventus, Pochettino had this to say about the players left out of the squad for the trip to Australia.

“The situation of three players (Bentaleb, Fazio and Pritchard) is very clear – they are not in my plans.

“Njie is injured – he is in London and not available to come.”

The statement on Njie is surprising considering that the player is thought to be about to join Marseille on loan, having supposedly passed his medical yesterday.

Pochettino also confirmed that he is staying at the club, despite rumours linking him with the vacant Argentina post. When quizzed on the issue, Pochettino said:

“I think the speculation is normal because I am an Argentinian coach at a top club in England.

“There are a lot of rumours that appear in the media but I am very happy at Tottenham and so for that reason this is not the right moment.”

  1. I must admit that the news of bentalebs impending departure upsets me I truly felt he showed a lot of promise when he was fit enough to make the field however he was never gonna make or break our season and was injured way to often I still believe he will be an excellent addition to someone’s team and I feel he has much left to offer some other team as for the other 2 pritchard is still young but not young enough as there are way to many players ahead of him in the pecking order and fazio has always been surplus to requirements so that is no surprise

  2. I think the thing to always remember with Poch, is that he is very focused on a players mentality or attitude. He will even get rid of good quality players, if they fall short in these two key areas!
The same is true when it comes to bringing in new players.

  3. Massive mistake losing Pritchard. That is like Man Utd losing Pogba.

Pritchard offers so much creativity which Spurs are lacking, so this decision is shocking. Pritchard has far more skill and technical ability than Lamela, Chadli, N’Jie and N’Koudou.

What a joke bringing in average players like N’Jie and N’Koudou, when we have a highly talented young English player at Spurs.

    • Think that’s a bit overstated considering Pritchard has failed to produce on loan recently as well not like he’s blown through doors
