Mauricio Pochettino has gone with a predictable starting eleven for Tottenham’s Champions League clash with CSKA Moscow, apart from one key change.

Kieran Trippier comes in for Kyle Walker at right back; it’s been suggested on social media Walker is being rested for Spurs’ crucial home game against Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday.

Elsewhere, Erik Lamela comes in for the injured Moussa Sissoko in the only other change from the side that beat Middlesbrough 2-1 at the weekend.

Here’s how Twitter reacted to all the team news.

  1. Kieran is on our team because he is not only suitable, Mauricio has all the confidence in the world in him and his abililities to get forward and to make the crosses. Kieran is shorter than most so we will need to cover for the eventual attack in this area. To apply Kieran at this time is exactly why we bought him, to prepare for going into the Champions League. Strength in depth. Having belief in Kieran is having belief in Pochittino. COYS!
