Tottenham face Arsenal at White Hart Lane on Sunday in what is arguably the most important north London derby in years, at least for the hosts.

Depending on what Chelsea do against Everton earlier on Sunday afternoon, Spurs could close the gap on Antonio Conte’s side to a point with a win over their fiercest rivals.

Mousa Dembele, who picked up an ankle injury in the 1-0 win at Crystal Palace on Wednesday night, has only a 50/50 chance of recovering in time for the derby, meaning Mauricio Pochettino could have a selection dilemma on his hands.

When Dembele was substituted at Selhurst Park, Christian Eriksen dropped into central midfield to partner Eric Dier and Tottenham began to control proceedings.

Victor Wanyama was also taken off at half-time against Palace but he’ll surely start on Sunday, especially if Dembele isn’t in the side. That means Eriksen can drop deep again while Dier is likely to play in a back three, which is where he started on Wednesday.

All of this depends on Dembele’s absence, of course. But if the Belgian’s injury affects his usual game in any way, it would make sense for him to be left out on this occasion.

Here’s our team to face Arsenal — what’s yours?

  1. I would replace Lloris with Pau Lopez! Controversial, I know but I have seen Lloris struggle in the ‘big’ games. Poor decision making, signs of nervousness. I would welcome a debut for Lopez. He would love to debut against the ‘gonners’. I would place my faith in the Tottenham defenders to assist Lopez.
