Chelsea could attempt to sign Kyle Walker this summer, according to The Mirror.

Manchester City have been strongly linked with a £40 million move for the Tottenham right-back in recent weeks.

Walker reportedly rowed with Mauricio Pochettino after the Spurs boss questioned his fitness last month. It is believed Walker’s head has been turned after learning he can earn double his current wages at Manchester City.

Chelsea would also be able to offer Walker far more money than Tottenham, but it’s extremely unlikely Daniel Levy would do business with the Blues.

However, The Mirror claim that won’t stop Chelsea from trying as Antonio Conte looks to provide competition for Victor Moses at right wing-back.

Walker posted a tribute video to White Hart Lane via his Twitter account earlier this week, suggesting he has a genuine connection to the club.

A summer scrap for his services seems inevitable now, but a move to Chelsea sounds speculative at best.

    • We know it won’t happen – but the media don’t care. They just make stuff up.

We all know Walker might leave. But Danny Rose has just had an operation – I doubt anyone would fork out the type of money Levy would be looking to squeeze out of any sale, not until he is seen to be back to his best. Besides which, the other players nickname for him is ‘Pochettino’s don’t because the two are so close. In many ways. Poch has made him what he is. Dier, too, strikes me as a Poch loyalist. The type of player who if Poch could only take one player if changing club, it would be Dier. Folk don’t get how important he is to Poch. He is the versatile lynchpin that allows Spurs to switch formation mid march. Just because United are agitating in the media to unsettle him, it doesn’t mean he wants to leave.
